About the practice...
This is a homebirth practice with a mission to educate and provide women with the opportunity to experience pregnancy and birth as it was intended to be. Without complications birth does not belong in a hospital. It is important that women know that the risks involved in unnecessary medical interventions of the birth process cause negative outcomes more often than not. 70 to 80 percent of births in all other countries are attended by midwives in the home environment. The United States has brought it into the hospitals and made birth another commodity. The power of choice is taken away from mothers as soon as they enter the hospital. At that time they are under medical protocol. Physicians have to follow the medical protocal. When a women chooses a doctor to be their caregiver when pregnant they have chosen to accept medical interventions. Homebirth offers women choices on how and where they want to give birth naturally. Trusting their bodies to do what they were made to do.
Natural Childbirth is an empowering experience for mothers like no other...be informed and then make your your choice
As a Midwife licensed by the State of Florida, safe guidelines are followed to ensure the safest, healthiest outcome for you and your baby. Licensed midwives are specialist in normal, healthy, low risk pregnancies and birth. We are trained to recognize complications that may occur during pregnancy and to then refer, transfer or collaborate with other health care providers.

About the Midwife: I was born in Miami, Florida and moved to St. Petersburg at the age of 10. I was raised by my wonderful parents, Don and Betsy Adams, who still reside in St. Petersburg in the same house I was raised. I have one brother, Donald Adams who lives in Savannah, GA and one sister, Donna Streetman who lives in St. Petersburg. I graduated from St. Pete High School and married soon out of high school and spent my life working and raising my 4 wonderful children, Steven, Lucas, Hailey and Owen. They are all parents themselves now, which makes me an ever-so-proud grandmother of six unbelievely fantastic grandkids. ( Grammahood Rocks!) I have to mention their names. Alexandria, Mason, Lucas, Kira, Mina and Owen. I'm sharing this information because I want to relay that family is very important to me and makes up part of who I am, and how blessed I am. After my children finished school, it was my turn and I began to start fullfilling a dream of mine. I graduated from the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in Gainesville Florida. I practiced in several different Birthing Centers and with some great Midwives before deciding that a homebirth practice was right for me.
